SodaStream Introduces Sparkling Natural Classics Flavors

SodaStream has created an all-natural line of classic flavors to join the current Sparkling Naturals products. We would like to publicly welcome Cola, Root Beer and Ginger Ale Flavors to the line.

The all-natural line of classic flavors means we use all-natural ingredients. They are 100% free from artificial flavors, colors and sweeteners. It does not contain any high-fructose corn syrup or preservatives, making it the perfect beverage choice for the entire family.

Along with these new classic flavors there is also an exotic line of Sparkling Naturals, including Green Tea, Lemon Lime, Orange Pineapple, Apple Mango, and Pink Grapefruit.

SodaStream Partners with Susan G. Komen for the Cure®

SodaStream has partnered with Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, the global leader of the breast cancer movement. To help kick off this partnership, SodaStream will be releasing a Limited Edition Pink Fizz soda maker and will donate 5% of the retail sales price for each Limited Edition Pink Fizz sold from October 1, 2011 through December 31, 2012, in support of Komen for the Cure and its promise to save lives and end breast cancer forever.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is an inspiring organization that has accomplished so much in the fight against breast cancer. Since its inception in 1982, the organization has invested more than $1.9 billion for the cure. They have become the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.

The Limited Edition Pink Fizz soda maker will be an addition to the already existing variety of colors (white, black, green, metallic red and shiny blue). The Fizz features the interactive Fizz Chip™ digital screen, a high-tech indicator designed to aid consumer understanding of their individual carbonation technique and usage. The patented Fizz Chip displays the amount of CO2 remaining in the carbonator (which powers the home soda maker) and also shows the strength of carbonation — or fizz — in the drink (light, medium or strong).

Academy Award-Winning Actress Susan Sarandon Pairs With SodaStream

The International Housewares Show was held in Chicago, Ill this past March. It may have been cold outside, but the temperature was heating up inside. The attendees were curious to see what was inside this large draped box behind some eye opening facts about landfill and transportation. There was a sign attached that read, “The Revolution Begins at 11:30 Today. Don’t Miss It.” The suspense was in the air.

The moment came to unveil the draped box. The excitement has built up. Then just as we thought the excitement couldn’t get much bigger, out comes Academy Award-winning actress and environmentalist Susan Sarandon to help with the unveiling. She gets up at the podium and begins to speak.

“I’m here today to shed light on a problem most of us don’t usually think about – the devastating impact of our national bottle habit, especially as it relates to our soda consumption,” said Ms. Sarandon. “The recycling rate in America is less than 35 percent. Troubling news to say the least,” she continued, “Particularly considering that this means that 141 billion beverage cans and bottles go to landfill each year.”

SodaStream’s innovative home carbonation system offers soda-loving consumers an opportunity to free themselves from bottles and cans. Using a sleek, compact home soda maker, anyone can transform plain water into fresh, fizzy soda in seconds, without the lugging, the storing – and the disposal – of plastic bottles and aluminum cans.

“Everyone talks about the three R’s of conscientious consumption: reduce, reuse and recycle,” noted Daniel Birnbaum, CEO of SodaStream International. “SodaStream is at the pinnacle of this hierarchy, reducing the number of trashed bottles and cans virtually to zero.  It’s a complete paradigm shift – a revolution, really – away from the old models of soda consumption. The SodaStream system uses BPA-free high-strength carbonating bottles, which are reusable for up to three years. Sodamix flavors, which we offer over 100 varieties globally,  are concentrated so that each pint-sized bottle will make the equivalent of up to 33 cans of soda. The carbonators (cylinders) that power the soda maker are also reusable; when empty, they are returned to SodaStream to be cleaned, inspected, refilled and sent back into the marketplace. SodaStream has Sold One Million Soda Makers in Sweden

Where has the time gone? It seems like it was only yesterday we sold our very first soda maker. Granted, that was back in 1903 and the soda maker was very primitive. Today, we are modern looking and so convenient. If we compare just the cylinder, we are talking a world of a difference. In 1903, the soda maker used a 28 lb cylinder. Today, it’s light enough for a child to carry.

It’s hard to wrap my mind over 1,000,000 soda makers sold in Sweden. That means SodaStream is used regularly in more than one out of five homes. Keep in mind Sweden is a country of approximately 4.5 million homes.

In this tremendous milestone, we are still not satisfied. We still have a few million more homes to reach before we will truly be satisfied with our efforts. We need everyone to believe in our benefits of convenience, value, health and a cleaner environment. We are driving a beverage revolution as consumers recognize that SodaStream is the smarter way to enjoy soda.

Sweden is a market where people drink more soda than sparkling water. We are happy with 1,000,000 but have our eyes set on congratulating the 2,000,000th customer.
